Sunshine Coast Neuropsychology Assessments
How the assessment process works
• Parents complete two questionnaires about their child prior to the appointment
• Initial assessment interview with one or both parents to obtain child’s developmental history and information about current presentation
• Two to four assessment appointments with the child (number of appointments required varies depending on presentation)
• Feedback appointment with one or both parents (and child, where appropriate) to discuss assessment results and recommendations
• Finally, a comprehensive neuropsychology report is provided to the parents and referrer, which includes the child’s results and findings, as well as practical strategies and recommendations. Additional reports can also be provided to the school and/or other health professionals.
Fees and rebates:
Assessment interview with parents (1 hour) $160
Assessment of child (2 to 4 appointments required) $160/hour
Preparation of report (includes phone calls to teacher etc) $300
Assessment feedback and discussion (1 hour) $160
Psychological intervention and therapy $160/hour
An estimate of total cost can be provided once the referral has been received.
Children and young people can be referred by parents, teachers or health professionals. Please discuss the referral with your treating doctor to determine whether your child may be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
